What We Do

Family Tracing & Reunification

Connecting families through an extensive global tracing network (Family Links Network) and Red Cross volunteers and digital solutions including Trace the Face (Home | Trace the Face).

Child Protection

Ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children in displacement situations by registering Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASCs), conducting follow-ups, tracing their relatives, and addressing any child protection concerns they may face.

Connectivity services

Providing essential communication support to migrants and their communities by offering 3-minute phone calls, 30-minute internet connectivity, and phone charging services, ensuring they can restore and maintain contact with their loved ones

Red Cross Messages

Delivering messages to restore communication when normal channels are disrupted, including facilitating the exchange of family news through letters for those without access to phones or social media.

RedSafe Application

Promoting the RedSafe application which can be used by migrants for different purposes including accessing vital information along migratory routes, geolocation of humanitarian services, sending one-time messages, storing important documents and contacts to mitigate loss in the event they lose them. Copies documents and contacts are easily retrieved from the RedSafe app.

Our Impact: In 2024,
  • 19672 phone calls were facilitated to reconnect, restore and maintain family contact.
  • 77059 30-minute internet connection vouchers were distributed to migrants and refugees
  • 25203 gadgets were charged
  • 13 Red Cross Messages were exchanged
  • 699 users downloaded the RedSafe application at RFL kiosks with assistance from Red Cross volunteers.
  • 71 new family tracing cases registered
  • 2 family tracing cases (5 sought persons) were successfully located
  • 22 new Unaccompanied and separated children were registered

Budget
